City of Bormio

Renowned ski resort but also a summer resort, the city of Bormio is able to offer the visitor numerous attractions dedicated to adults and children. Famous in the world for its thermal waters, Bormio is a real jewel set in the Alps that preserves its history and traditions of the past: from the Bagni Vecchi to the caves in the mountains, passing through the millennial springs, are just some of the wonders to discover in the beautiful city. Once considered "Magnifica Terra", the county of Bormio has always been at the center of commercial traffic from Italy to the rest of Europe and for this reason it has often been involved in bitter conflicts between various dominations that have occurred over the decades: from the Duchy of Milan to the Grisons, passing through the Austrians before the advent of the Unification of Italy. Among the beauties not to be missed in Bormio also a visit to the Tower of the Hours, true symbol of the city, which every day beats the hours of the community and the Collegiate of Saints Gervasio and Protasio, of medieval origin, which is today the main basilica of the city .
