Capo d'Orlando

Capo d'orlando is an Italian town of 13314 inhabitants in the province of Messina. Born as a fishing village, originally as a hamlet of Naso, it obtained autonomy in 1925. Today it is among the most populous municipalities in Sicily, and a large commercial and tourist center. It is also a rich center of history and architectural monuments that attracts tourists of all ages. The tertiary sector is certainly the most flourishing, nevertheless, residues of activities such as agriculture remain, still largely carried out in these areas, thanks to a fertile territory and a mild climate. Place of great attraction also for the wonderful beaches, and recreational activities, visited especially during the summer.

How to reach Capo d'Orlando

By plane

The municipality of Capo d'Orlando is about 180 km from the "Falcone e Borsellino" airport of Palermo-Punta Raisi and about 200 km from the "Vincenzo Bellini" airport of Catania Fontanarossa, which offers national and international connections with daily frequency both with scheduled companies that low-cost. From Palermo airport it is possible to take the Trinacria Express train to get to the main station of Palermo, and from there take the train to Messina to Capo d'Orlando-Naso railway station. From Catania you need to reach the Messina Centrale station. From here, every two hours, a train leaves for Palermo with the Capo d'Orlando-Naso stop.

By car

From Palermo airport take the A20 highway, continue towards Messina and exit at the Rocca di Caprileone-Capo d'Orlando west exit. Continue along the A113 state road to Capo d'Orlando. From Catania airport take the A18 motorway towards Catania-Messina, near Messina take the A20 to Palermo and exit at Brolo-Capo D'orlando est. After continue along the highway 116 up to Capo d'Orlando. From Messina take the A20 motorway towards Palermo. For those coming from Messina, exit the Brolo-Capo d'Orlando east junction, then continue on the SS 113 to Capo d'Orlando.

Not to be missed in Capo D'orlando ...

In addition to the aforementioned seaside attraction, there are several monuments and places of interest not to be missed; among which we remember the Bastione Castle, the Quadaranini Tower, the Tonnara di San Giorgio. Features are also the marina and the lighthouse.
