Transfer from Palermo Central Station to Cefalù and/or vice versa

Palermo Central Station is one of the main hubs to reach the Sicilian capital, the neighboring provinces and the most important coastal towns such as the city of Cefalù. The central station is about 75 km from the Norman town and connections are provided by regional trains or buses during the day. From the train station of Palermo (Piazza Giulio Cesare), right in the city center, to reach Cefalù by car you need to take the highway A19 (direction Messina), exit of Cefalù (expected toll).

Transfer with Bravodriver.com

We recommend booking a rental service with driver (NCC) or TAXI in advance. A professional, licensed for public transport, will pick you up at the airport arrivals hall and take you to your destination. The historic center of Cefalù falls entirely within the limited traffic zone (ZTL). Only vehicles licensed for access can freely pass through the historic center and take advantage of the preferential lanes. Using a private transfer is definitely the most comfortable and safe solution that will save you time and effort, especially if you travel with lots of luggage, in a group with friends or with your family; in this way, in fact, you will arrive loads and rested to enjoy your holiday in the wonderful Cefalù. Depending on the vehicle category and number of passengers, the cost can vary from around € 70 to € 180 and you can reach Cefalù in just over 60 minutes. The rental service with driver is the choice in any case recommended for groups of friends / family (4 or more people), who want to comfortably (and quickly) reach the city of Cefalù directly from the airport. In fact, special rates are provided for mini-groups of people.

Other travel modes

Shared taxi

Starting from the central station of Palermo you can take advantage of a service that is a good compromise between the bus and the taxi: the shared taxi (taxi sharing). Just off the central train station, on the right side of Piazza Giulio Cesare, you can find taxis that leave as soon as all the seats are occupied. Unfortunately, expectations can also be long in low periods!

Train

From the central train station (Piazza Giulio Cesare), the Palermo-Cefalu route is served by Trenitalia. The journey time varies from 45 to 60 minutes and the train ticket can be purchased online. To find timetables, seasonal promotions and daily trips it is advisable to visit the website of the rail transport service Trenitalia.

Bus

From the central bus station (via Paolo Balsamo), adjacent to the central train station, the transport company "SAIS" (Sais) provides a connection to Cefalù (station). To find out about bus schedules and routes, we recommend visiting the company's website.

Arriving at the central station of Cefalù the historic center is just 300 m. Proceed in the direction of "Centro" through a downhill road that you have to travel to the end and so to reach "Piazza Armando Diaz" (adjacent to an "Esso" filling station). From this stretch onwards (between the Villa Comunale and Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi), the "off limits" area for cars begins.
