Caltanissetta

The city of Caltanissetta is home to countless religious and cultural monuments. The most important are the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Nova, a cathedral located in its historic center, and the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, also called the "Vetere", close to the castle of Pietrarossa. Also of great interest is the presence of a mining, palaeontology and zolfara museum, which contains minerals and fossils and other notable mineralogical pieces.
